Kim Michael GG Thon is a Norwegian citizen. He grew up internationally and has spent almost half his life abroad, living in Singapore, Scotland, Denmark and Germany. He is well travelled, with extensive experience from Europe, South and Southeast Asia, as well as South Africa and eastern Africa. Kim has a native understanding of German and English alongside his mother tongue Norwegian. And has a pan Scandinavian understanding of Swedish and Danish.
Kim holds a Bachelors degree in German culture and politics from the university of Oslo. He also attended Edinburgh Business School, graduating with an MBA and a Master of Science in strategic planning.
His professional experience spans several industries, amongst them the defence sector, HoReCA, shipping and consulting. He has worked in B2C, B2B and B2G and has experience in negotiations up to -suite and ministerial level. Kim has an entrepreneurial spirit, having started several businesses, and he also has boardroom experience from medium and large sized organisations.
For a decade he ran a business consultancy targeted at international trade and projects, focusing mostly on the Nordic regions and Germany and Austria. Project size and client types ranged from large railroad infrastructure projects to a patented point of sale software system. Unfortunately this business fell victim to the recent pandemic, but the experiences gained in this consultancy work set Kim on the path of creating your country manager Germany.
